Learn Like a Child – Speak Like a Native
Language to Body
You have arrived at the Language to Body (L2B) demo page! Congratulations!
Children learn a LOT of the basic language in their mother tongue by FIRST responding with their body to communication from parents and others. At that early stage a child is not required to speak in response. However the child is required to do something with their body in response to the words being heard.
We are all familiar with this process. A child in a high-chair is being fed by his mother, but not opening his mouth.
The mother commands: “Open your mouth!” and the child opens his mouth.
You get the picture.
As adults we can – and SHOULD – use the same approach to master our new language as quickly as possible. With this approach we rapidly connect the sounds we are hearing with meaning that we understand.
What is your task? It’s simple. You hear words and phrases and you have to match them by dragging the image with the same meaning into the box at the bottom. Look at the video below for a short example from the Kungfu English product designed specifically for Chinese speakers to learn English.

This is not a conceptual understanding, it’s physical. We understand with our whole body. When we engage with language in this way we are only concerned about matching the sound that we hear to meaning. And that meaning is something which we can FEEL in the body. We feel it, and our body becomes part of the learning, because we do something physically in response to the meaning that we hear.
The Language to Body exercise is designed to help you learn your new language from the ground up, in the same way you learned your mother tongue as a child.

L2B is being built into the new Speech Genie that is being built now to help you learn any language. We have to start somewhere of course, so we’re beginning with English and with Mandarin Chinese. Other languages will follow.
What’s important to understand right now is that the exercise you just did is only a small part of the whole Speech Genie system. And you have only experience 116 of the more than 3,000 “mini stories” that make up just L2B.
Other than L2B many other exercises are built in and the course is designed to help you develop core skills, step-by-step, in the same way a child learns. The Speech Genie course itself integrates all the different elements in a way that you cannot stop yourself learning! As long as you are following the path, you are learning.
For now, you can experience different components of the whole course, piece by piece. We have started with L2B and we will be adding other components in the coming weeks so that you can get your first experience of these.
